THIS WEEK’S FOCUS

Welcome to the last week of school  I cannot thank you all enough for making this an outstanding school year.  We have had lots of fun, grown a ton, and learned so much together!  Thank you all for sharing your children with me.

This week I will continue to send home books that we have completed and supplies.  Although the only homework is reading, please do continue to send the homework folder back and forth for any communication that we may need to send. Last day for AR tests is Monday.

We will be having our PJ and Movie Day on Wednesday, May 22nd. You may bring in a sleeping bag and/or a blanket as well as one “stuffy” ;). If your child has purchased a yearbook, he/she can bring it to school on Wednesday and Thursday to fill it with autographs.  If you would like to purchase a yearbook, they are on-sale in the office for $30.

Last week, I sent home a letter with some suggested sites for the students to use over the summer. I do strongly encourage you to keep your child on some kind of structured academic schedule over the summer.  My suggestions are reading for 20 minutes 3 times per week and some kind of writing at least once a week. I am sending home a journal for your child to use. This is a creative way to keep them using not only the handwriting skills that we have worked so hard on, but the sentence construction skills, as well.  You can always reach me over the summer via email and I will be glad to provide you with additional suggestions.

Thank you all for an incredible year!  I had so much fun with your kiddos and truly enjoyed having them in my class.  Please stay in touch over the summer and the years to come.
