The week of April 15, 2019

What a busy week we had!  Our class did a great job on their SAT assessments.  We thoroughly enjoyed “Gus Day” on Friday to celebrate the completion of the testing.  I am very proud of their team spirit and good sportsmanship!

We are continuing our search for Box Tops.  It is a new month and the contest starts again.  Please remind your child to bring in their contributions!  Box Tops can be found on packages of Juicy Juice, Ziploc bags, and Hanes products.

This week in Spelling, we will begin Unit 23.  The Spelling list will be sent home on Monday.  The test is scheduled for Thursday, April 18th due to the short week.  Spelling homework will be due on Wednesday, April 17th this week due to the short week.  This will be communicated in your child’s planner.

In Reading, we will read “The Search for the Missing Patriot”.  The assessment is scheduled for Thursday, April 18th.

In Vocabulary, we will learn the words from the reading story.  The test will be on Thursday, April 18th

In Math, we will continue with our daily lessons.  This week we will be learning about mean, median, mode, and rang, reviewing units of capacity, and multiplying fractions and whole numbers.

Please remember that reading logs are due at the start of each week.  They will be sent home in the homework folder at the end of each week. Students are to complete the log each night.  At the end of the week, the log should be signed by a parent, and it should be returned to school along with their Friday folder.  Please encourage your child to complete these logs nightly.  We have had several students losing their Fun Friday because they are forgetting these reading logs.  They might need a little reminder at home to get back on track.  I would appreciate it if you could help me with this encouragement.
