Even with a week off for Spring Break, March was packed with awesome fun! We started the month off by celebrating Dr. Seuss’ bithday and Read Across America by dressing up like Dr. Seuss characters. Later that day we participated in the Annual Jump Rope for Heart. Of course, in Genesis fashion, we didn’t just jump rope. We added pogo sticks, pogo balls, and tinikling. What a great start to March!

That weekend was the Strawberry Festival put on by Cindy’s Pets. Cindy’s Pets is a charity that delivers pet food to Seniors who participate in the Meals on Wheels program and is a program that Genesis Schools work very closely with. Our Talent Show, held at the Genesis Preparatory School was also a big hit with performances from students in all grade levels from Kindergarten to 5th Grade.

For Spirit Week, which is always the week before Spring Break, students and teachers dressed up each day based on a different theme. These themes ranged from sports day, to pajama day, to character day. To finish off Spirit Week, all students from Pre-K to 5th grade went to a local park to participate in the 36th annual Genesis Olympics. All events in the Olympics are run by middle and high school students from our Genesis Prep School.

After Spring Break, we had the award winning “Wonders of Nature” come and present to our Genesis students many different animals to not only teach them about the animals but also their importance in the world and how we can help protect the environment. All in all, it was a normal March here at Genesis Schools.
