November was a busy month here at Genesis Elementary School. We had our annual Veterans Day Program out on the front lawn. The local VFW chapter came to present the posting of the colors. They taught us about the importance of the flag, its symbolism and its meaning. The Genesis Elementary School students sang the song for each branch of the Military. We all sang God Bless America together. The names of veterans in each family in the school was read as we remembered them. It was an awesome experience as always.

Later in the month, the first grade class presented its annual Thanksgiving play. Genesis is strong in its tradition. The Thanksgiving play was written and performed by the very first 1st Grade class of Genesis 36 years ago. Every year they teach us about the first Thanksgiving. This is always followed by the Thanksgiving feast which is put on by our parent’s group. Its a wonderful event.
