Laptops for Learning

At Genesis School, we strive to stay current with the latest technology. In 2000, we introduced wireless laptops with our Fifth Grade classes of 2001. Since then, both fifth grade classes have used wireless laptops in their classrooms, and have taken their laptops with them to Genesis Preparatory School.  For more information on our Laptops for Learning program, please call or email us.

Minimum Specs for 5^th Grade Laptops 2010 - 2011

These are MINIMUM requirements.  If you would like to go bigger and better that would be great! 

1.      Operating system – Windows Vista or Windows 7

2.      Hard drive must be at least 150GB

3.      Wireless Card – Internal

4.      Microsoft Office 2007

§  Word

§  Excel

§  Publisher

§  Power Point

You do have the option of purchasing Microsoft Office 2007, or you may wish to purchase your software through the school.  If you choose to purchase Microsoft Office through the school your approximate cost will be $80.00.

Laptop computers or Netbooks are appropriate.

Mac/Apple computers are impractical for the Elementary Laptop Program.

*Please purchase for your laptop computer user a flash/thumb drive.  This will be for saving and transferring information.
