Kindergarten  Week of  September 6, 2010

Welcome back!  I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!  This week we will be continuing on with our letter review.  We are not only working on the correct formation of each letter, but the sound each letter makes and some words that begin with each letter.  In Math we will be wrapping up our chapter on position and sorting and we will be having a test on Friday.  No need to worry though, the test will be just a review of the same things we have been working on in class.  No stress!

In Science we are continuing to explore how things grow and move and animal and plant parts.  In Social Studies we are working in our September booklets and learning about our flag and Patriot’s Day.  This week and next we will also be focusing on color words.

This Friday, September 10th, we will be having a Patriot’s Day Ceremony at 9:30 a.m.  All parents/grandparents are welcome to attend.  Please be sure to dress your child in red, white, and blue in honor of this day.   I also just posted a sign up sheet for items we are in need of for our “Applicious Apple Celebration”.  This will be on Friday, September 17th around 1:30 p.m.  I would love to have some volunteers to help us out as well.  This is just a fun, apple themed activity that is sure to put you in the fall spirit!  Hope you can join us!

As always, I welcome you to stop by our room anytime and check out all of our hard work.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns too.  Have a great week!
