Week of January 30-February 3, 2012

FIFTH GRADE

This week we will be taking another field trip to the Genesis Preparatory School to meet Benjamin Franklin in person! We will leave the West Campus at 9:30 for the 10:00 presentation. It is supposed to be about forty-five minutes long. We will then return to the West Campus. We should be arriving back to the classroom around eleven o’clock.

Research Project Packets went home Friday! We will be starting our note cards in class. If your child would bring a pack into class it would be terrific! We will start Monday on our research! Abraham Lincoln is a fascinating president. You child will enjoy the next few weeks of learning!  

This week we will be covering the following:

Spelling: Unit 26 A pretest will be given Thursday, February 2.

Math: Chapter 7 Fraction Concepts

Reading: “The Master Spy of Yorktown”

English- Research Project Note Cards and Test on Unit 5

History-Chapter 11 “The War for Independence”  A test is  Thursday, February 2.

Vocabulary- Unit 11      The vocabulary test on unit 11 will be Thursday, February 9

February 14: Valentine’s Day Card Exchange
