Mrs. Fonnotto’s Fantastic Fifth Grade

The Week of January 23, 2012

What a great week we had!  On Thursday, January 19^th, our class invaded Genesis Preparatory School.  The students had a great time meeting the current 6^th grade students and exploring the campus.  The students enjoyed changing classes, different lunches, PE, Art, and more!  I am confident that they will do well next year. 

This week in Math, we will continue Chapter 7.    This Chapter focuses on fractions. 

In Reading, we will read, “If You Lived at the Time of the American Revolution”.  The assessment is scheduled for Thursday, January, 26^th. 

In English, we will continue working in Unit 6.  This unit focuses on pronouns.

In Science, we will begin Chapter 9.  This chapter focuses on weather and climate.  The assessment is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1st. 

In Spelling, we will begin Unit 18.  The assessment will be Friday, January 27^th.  In Vocabulary, we will begin Unit 13.  The assessment is scheduled for Friday, January 27^th.  Please remind your child to review the words and delimitations nightly to ensure academic success.

In History, we will continue learning about the establishment of the thirteen colonies. 

Please be sure that your child brings his/her laptop to school each day fully charged and ready to go.  If a student’s laptop is not charged he/she will have to write the assignments for the day.
