Week of December 15^th – 19^th   

      This is the last week before the Holiday Break!  We will be working with our Multi-Cultural theme, Christmas in Mexico, and reviewing this week. 

Our Multi-Cultural presentation is Wednesday, December 17^th at 9:30.  Please come by and join our Christmas Fiesta! 

This is the last week to take A/R tests for the 2^nd quarter.  Students are required to read at least two A/R books each interim and take an A/R test on them.  The students must check to see if the tests are on the classroom computer before reading the book.  The grades on these tests are added into their Reading Comprehension grade on their Report Card.  If the student does not take any or all of these tests, they will receive a 0 grade for each test missed.  Please make sure your child has chosen an A/R book and is reading it at home as part of the 20 minute reading assignment each week night. 

There will be no Science or Florida Social Studies test this week.  Wednesday, December 17^th, will be our weekly Reading Quiz.  Our story this week is The Story of Susan La Flesche Picotte,  pgs. 288 - 305. There will be no Vocabulary Test this week.  We will review this week in Spelling.  There will be no test.  

Homework for this week is read 20 minutes and complete the Reading Log, study for assigned tests, and complete any unfinished work and assigned homework handouts or activities.                                                                                                         Please feel free to contact me at school or email me at bnicholson@genesiselementary.com if you have any questions or concerns.
