Genesis School, founded in 1977, is an
independent
co-educational day school for students two years of age through Fifth Grade. At
the heart of the philosophy at Genesis is our deep commitment to the development
of the unique qualities of each child in an atmosphere of respect and
understanding.Important goals of the school are:
• to provide a strong foundation for future education
• to promote a lifelong love of learning
• and to develop independent thinking skills.
The Preschool curriculum is based on the developmental needs of young children and includes instruction in academic readiness skills, phonics, art, music, physical education, and creative experiences.
The Elementary curriculum emphasizes a strong language arts program, mathematics, social studies, and science, as well as Spanish, art, physical education, music, and computer.
Technology is state-of-the-art and laptop computers are used to enhance the curriculum in the classroom by the fifth grade students. The development of creativity is emphasized by a variety of experiences in the areas of art, music, chorus, drama, and related field trips.
